I wasn’t planning on having a recipe post up again so soon but Fall officially begins today and this Spiced Hot Chocolate is the best seasonal cocoa you’ll ever have! It’s vegan, available in three flavours (pumpkin spice, cardamom or cinnamon) so can be enjoyed by everyone …
Ingredients (makes approx 16oz):
2 cups vanilla soy milk
1 tablespoon 100% cacao powder (I used Hershey’s Cocoa 100% Cacao)
2 tablespoons sugar*
For Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate:
½ teaspoon ground pumpkin pie spice
For Cinnamon Spice Hot Chocolate:
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For Cardamom Spice Hot Chocolate:
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
*use bone char free sugar if following a strict vegan diet

Utensils:
medium saucepan
measuring cups and spoons
whisk
x2 small mugs if making two drinks or x1 large mug if making one drink
Directions:
1. | Place milk, cacao powder, sugar and chosen spice in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
2. | Stir frequently to make sure all the ingredients combine and heat for 5 minutes or until it begins to boil.
3. | Remove from heat and pour into mugs.
4. | Optional- top with whipped cream and a chocolate crisp (or other addition of choice) and dust with cacao powder.
Enjoy!
