From time to time, life creates challenges, roadblocks and difficulties — but it also reveals opportunities, fresh starts and new perspectives. Change of any kind can be difficult to navigate and may leave us feeling uncertain or in need of some motivation or reassurance that uplifts us.

Sometimes we happen upon some words of wisdom that help us gather our resolve or slowly exhale the heaviness that we carry. Finding something that gives us a reason to smile or believe in ourselves and communicate our stories is invaluable. We can all learn from each other.
Here are six quotes by some amazing writers who share their creative power to put strength, knowledge and hopefulness out into the world. These writers are sometimes vulnerable, sometimes raw — and always honest and profound.

It can be hard to let something or someone go, especially if we think they give us some kind of grounding, direction or purpose. There may come a moment though when we realize that what we’re holding on to has actually stopped us from experiencing new, revitalizing opportunities — or we’re just ready for a new beginning. Whatever our reasoning is, once we feel that shift, that internal call for transformation, it’s time for us to embrace it and see where it leads.

I’m sure that many of us at one time or another have felt like we should be further ahead in our endeavours or that the progress we’re working on is somehow taking too long or seems to be on a different path. It can be hard to feel comfortable or love ourselves if we’re always looking ahead. It’s good to plan, it’s good to grow, it’s good to have goals, but every now and then we need to take a look at all we’ve achieved or learned. We need to make sure we see ourselves reflected back in the progress we make, otherwise we lose our reason why.

I would highly recommend, if you haven’t done so already, familiarising yourself with the work of these incredible creators and find some more of their words that will inspire, soothe, motivate and move you.
Which one of these is your favourite quote? Do you have a favourite poet or artist whose work you love?

I love the first quote by Danica Gim! I’ve always struggled with the results of my work. I always gave up on all my ideas and myself so quickly in the past. In 2020, I’ve been leaning towards a”trusting the process” mindset and it’s helped me so much! xo
