5 Mindfulness Quotes From Nature

We are not passive outsiders to nature. The natural world is as much a part of us as we are a part of it. It’s no wonder that spending time amongst its regrowth, resiliency and beauty can encourage us to find lessons and remedies that improve our mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

When we observe nature, it can bring about clarity, balance, acceptance and calm — even if it’s taking a moment to rest and breathe. Here are 5 nature-themed quotes that will hopefully provide some much-needed insight and mindfulness …

Changes aren’t always easy to navigate; they can be confusing, stressful and overwhelming. Maintaining something that grounds us, like a routine, can provide a secure base from which to tackle shifting uncertainty.

A poem by Jennae Cecelia that reads: And while everything else seems to change, I find comfort in the sun rising and setting the same.

It’s common to push aside taking care of our mental health when we‘re facing challenging times. As a result, we may not notice when the weight of our worries become too heavy to carry. By allowing ourselves to pause, listen, accept and respond to our needs, we‘re protecting our well-being and increasing our chances of finding the right support. Forging a path forward requires acknowledgement it’s important we give ourselves that chance

A Linda Hogan quote that reads: There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story.

If we always rush through experiences, we’ll miss the lessons they can present. We won’t perceive or discover the beauty of growth — even in the most difficult of circumstances. Many beneficial changes can come from allowing ourselves to reflect.

A Ralph Waldo Emerson quote that reads: Adopt the pace of nature; her secret is patience.

Connection, meaning and roots will always be there to be reclaimed even when you find yourself unsure, doubting and adrift. Nourish them, and you’ll never be alone.

A Robin Wall Kimmere quote that reads: The land knows you, even when you are lost.

Feeling a bit lost or directionless will happen periodically, we can even second guess ourselves into fear, inaction or confusion. Every so often we need to look in new directions — discovering what we seek may be closer than we realise.

A Rumi quote that reads: Maybe you are searching among branches for what only appears in the roots.

Which is your favourite quote? Do some of these lessons from nature connect with you?

  1. That Rumi quote is definitely my favorite here, but they’re all phenomenal. This post makes me wish I spent more time outside (if only I wasn’t allergic to *everything* haha)

  2. Oh, these are just lovely! As a gardener I spend a lot of time outside in Nature and it’s so true, she works at her own pace and the sooner you tune into that, the happier you’ll be!

  4. Great post!
Ralph Emerson Waldo’s is my favourite quote to ponder. We’re all rushed off our feet for everything and we get frustrated easily. We have to relearn patience.

  8. Wow! Each and any of these quotes alone are thought provoking but what you have done is curate and help highlight the importance of maintaining nature alongside people, and that the closer we are to the natural world the more in tune we are with it and ourselves. You’ve done outstanding work here, I love it!

    1. Thank you — that is exactly what I was hoping would be the takeaway from this post and the collection of quotes. We are so connected to nature but for many this awareness has been somewhat lost so I hope to remind people through quotes like these and my own poetry, etc. Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment!
