Life has been rather hectic lately, a significant upheaval is on the way for me personally; which, if things actually turn out as we hope, my husband and I will see a marked improvement in our lifestyle and general mental well-being. I’m choosing to focus on the possibilities of these advancements coming to fruition; and what’s encouraging me to remain focused and optimistic are a collection of quotes.
A number of people have shared with me that inspirational and motivational words help maintain their mental and emotional wellness; with many referring to them throughout the day for a little mental boost. I fully embrace this idea and have taken to writing out particularly meaningful quotes on Post-It Notes and putting them on my fridge and desk; their soothing words practically becoming affirmations for the day.

I sincerely believe that the words we speak to ourselves can really make a difference to our general health and wellness. Whether it’s from effective self-talk or incentivized by the wisdom of others, what we give voice to can be defining and liberating. Even during incredibly fraught or troubling times, what we internally and externally vocalize can channel our energy towards something more emotionally nourishing and supportive.
Here are 9 quotes that may support your mental health and improve your day …

When I first read this I misread it as “What I planted in each person’s soul will sprout” which is also a beautiful thought. This is a post I personally really needed to read; thank you for writing it ❤

I love Mr. Rogers quotes. He has to be one of the most insightful people at least of the past century. Here’s another good one from him: “In a way, you’ve already won in this world because you’re the only one who can be you.”

I only found out about him when I moved to the U.S. so it’s been a delight over the years finding out more about him. He was a treasure and I love how he frames everything with love, respect and kindness. Thank you for sharing that other quote of his, it’s beautiful!

I didn’t realize he wasn’t internationally known! You should watch the documentary Wont You Be My Neighbor. It’s very, very good.

Theses are some great inspirational quotes. I learned this later in life: “give yourself the same care and attention as your do for others” Giving more time to family, friends and even my employers while neglecting my own self care was a lesson i had to learn the hard way. No one is worth sacrificing your mental health.

I love the idiea of writing quotes on post it and stick them around the house. It is something I could definitely do since I love wuotes and the wisdom they carry. I look for quotes all the time. They help me get inspired and yes they are extremely helpful for my mental health. I buy a specific tea selection which has quotes in each tea bag. I love them! I may drink 3-4 teas a day just to read more quotes.

These are lovely quotes. My favorite from this list is the one from the Poetry of Dhiman about worthiness. And I like how you can turn these quotes into affirmations. Affirmations really do help!! My favorite quote, though I’m not sure if it relates to mental health is this: “Done is better than perfect” as said by Sheryl Sandberg! 🙂
