When life is a bit of a struggle and difficulties sometimes linger, or things don't quite turn out how we planned, it's encouraging to receive a little reminder that better times are ahead. We may have to work at it and even ask for help, but change will be ready when we are. Being kind to ourselves in times of stagnation, change or upheaval etc represents an act of resiliency and self-love -- we're worth it.
A new year that's ushered in with a countdown to midnight can often represent an opportunity to begin again, set some goals and hope for better. There's something intrinsically uplifting about the resetting of a calendar that hints at a second chance for us all.
It can be easy to believe that something we're working through or struggling with won't get any better or that the weight we're carrying will only become heavier. For a time, it will feel like things may never blossom, improve, or be fulfilled -- but we haven't overcome everything that's crossed our path so far for this to be where opportunity, growth and love stops. There are more good things to come.
Nature isn’t passive, it’s neither rushed nor aimless. It has vibrancy, resiliency and purpose. It is home to many who rely on its seasons and cycles. It is home to us too and has so much to share if we just stop and take the time to understand what it can teach us.
Emotional healing can be rest, it can be careful reflection. It can be self-care, confrontation, silence, therapy, exercise and many other things. It’s as individual as we are. There’s no right way to do it, no set timeframe, it’s not even linear. How we piece ourselves back together looks and feels different for everyone — but it is a quiet teacher that will show us all the way forward.
What we say can have a tremendous impact. Words lead to beliefs. Beliefs lead to action. Action leads to change. And change leads to liberation. How we speak to ourselves, the way we talk to others and the thoughts and utterances that we deliver into the world have power.
Anxiety, stress, depression or grief sometimes would have you believe that the weight of what you are holding is too much to carry, that you will break if you dare to begin to release what sits so heavy on your soul.
Life can be a storm you can see coming that you get to prepare for or it can be a sudden deluge that takes you by surprise and leaves you scrambling for cover. It can be clouds that are heavy and dark with ominous energy or it can be clear, fresh air with the promise of new sunshine.
